The Apprentice Trader

This event is our flag ship product and one which we have invested in to make it the best product of its kind. The Apprentice Trader team event has a format based on shows such as the Dragons Den and The Apprentice. The event also has a unique and very dynamic trading element which represents the scoring system for the event. This has been created for The Events House and is the only system of its kind.

The event offers a chance for delegates to work creatively as a team, develop presentation skills, look at crucial real life business decisions and marketing stratergies. Along with providing an incredible platform for teams and groups to have fun. All the within a 2 - 4 hour period!

The structure fo the event includes:

A Pitch to the Dragons for investment in the newly created enterprise.

The ups and downs of the stock market, relating to company performance and portfolio values.

The production of a QVC style shoping advert.

Product launch and showcase of the advert to the group

Each team makes a blind selection of an item. The ice breaker is used to determine which team picks first. This is the product around which each team will base their company. The aim of the event is to develop their product and sell it to other teams in the form of company stock.
Trading Name
Teams need to be as creative as possible, finding as many imaginative and interesting uses for their product. Teams will announce their company name and the first round of trading begins. They must release shares in their own company in order to trade with companies they believe will make them the most money. Once all trading sheets are in, share prices are calculated and reported.
The Advertisement
After the first round of trading, teams work on a QVC style advertisement which will be shown to the group before final trading begins. Teams have to negotiate for increased production time, effects, camera time, props and a host of other items.
Product Launch
Once they have filmed the advertisement teams begin working on their product launch. A presentation will be conducted, aimed at selling their stock to increase share prices. Videos will be shown during their product launch. After the presentations, teams trade shares in their companies based on the presentation and product uses.
The Boardroom
The event is concluded with a group debrief. Teams will be given a round up of their performance over the day. This will include company share prices, stock value, team performance, videos and presentation. Teams will be fired (there will be an Alan Sugar like character) in reverse order leaving the victori- ous team with the glory of being hired for the £100 million a year dream job.
