Network Rail have contacted us on numerous occasions to use our motorsport themed, team building event, The Formula. This activity allows delegates to experience all of the aspects of Formula racing including; team creation, design, racing, driver training, the season, fitness and the pit stops.
One of the key requirements for the client was to bring teams, from within their company, together. They want to make the underlying messages and morals of the business (collaboration, teamwork and valuable networks) clear whilst still having fun.
After the client outlined the key messages, which they wanted to make clear to the staff, the next step was to create a bespoke event. To do this, we used The Formula as a starting point. We then went on to have numerous face-to-face meetings and scoped out the venue for the event.
Together, we determined that the client wanted a team building activity in the day, followed by motorsport themed entertainment for their evening team meal. To enhance the impact of the brand the client opted to brand the pit car with the company logo.
During the day, as part of The Formula team event, delegates had the opportunity to mimic a pit crew whilst taking part in the pit stop challenge. They also trained as a driver on our linked simulators, tested their fitness on our Batak reaction test, completed a race season on our Giant Scalextric and created their own race team. The event then carried on into the evening where delegates could better their score on the Batak and the linked racing seats.
Throughout the day and evening teams worked together to set the best scores across the various disciplines. At the end of the event the team results were gathered and the winning team was announced for a podium finish.
