The Best Way to get the X Factor

The X Factor reaches its climax this weekend and it is bound to be a big affair.

Aside from the singers and the judging line up, the production of the show has got bigger each year. It started as someone singing onstage with a modest lightshow and is now an all singing, all dancing extravaganza with backing singers and dancers and enough flashing lights to rival Blackpool.

Grand events like this take a lot of work behind the scenes. It’s not just theatrical or entertainment events that need to have the wow factor -conferences and awards ceremonies can benefit from a professional touch to transform them from a dreary night out to a memorable experience.

Planning a showcase event can be stressful and time consuming so employing a professional producer or event manager makes a big difference to the end result. There are a number of specialist factors that you may want to include but have no idea of the equipment involved or what to consider which is where a professional event planner comes in.

Depending on your venue, good sound can involve more than just giving a microphone to whoever is speaking. There are various types of public address systems from static microphones on a lectern to radio or hand held mics. The choice could be crucial if you have various speakers who are different heights and speak at different volumes or if you need to mic up someone who is moving (or dancing) around a stage.

Lighting also makes a big difference to an event. It should grab the attention of your audience rather than distract them and different tones and shapes can be used to pull attention to important people or information on the stage.

Not every room is suited to projection screens and, at some point, most people have been in a position where they can’t see or read the screen. Front and rear projection systems offer flexible solutions to displaying information to different audience sizes in different shaped rooms and are also available in widescreen and high definition depending on what you need to show.

Powerpoint is no longer the main tool for showing important information to your audience. Video has a variety of creative and practical uses including clips and pre-recorded information and live streaming allows for larger audiences or restricted view.

Employing an event planner need not mean that you lose the control over your event. It is all about making sure you get what you want to the highest standards and knowing that you can relax and enjoy it while someone else takes over behind the scenes.

There is a lot to consider if you want your event to have the X Factor which is a great example of how amateur performers can shine with a professional touch.
